We want to know where our plastic waste ends up. Especially the mixes that are hard to recycle. Do you ship or process Dutch plastic waste abroad? Let us know!

Dutch plastic household waste is processed in Europe according to the Dutch organisation for packaging companies. Much of the industrial plastic waste though, used to be shipped to China. Since the Chinese import ban on plastic waste last year, it seems this route is closed.

Do you ship or process Dutch plastic waste abroad?

We want to know where our Dutch (industrial) plastic waste ends up. Especially the low quality plastics are hard to process, people in the plastic business tell us: ‘PET is very suitable for recycling. Other waste, like mixes of several low quality plastics or carbon black plastics are not.’

We want to know what happens to our used plastics. Can waste processors find enough recycling capacity in Europe? Or is it shipped somewhere else? Contact us at: karen.geurtsen@kro-ncrv.nl or odette.joosten@kro-ncrv.nl.
